Think about gifting a loved one with a donation in her or his name to the ANCC Cornerstone Capital Campaign. Cornerstone’s funds support the ongoing operations of the Church, the foundation of new parish communities, and the development of new media outreach. You can access a link for convenient online donation here.
You can purchase quality children’s, women’s, and men’s clothing, as well as towels and blankets, stamped with the ANCC logo. Every time you order an item, part of its price is donated to the ANCC. Every time you or a loved one wears or uses the item you let people know about the ANCC. So it’s a win-win situation! You can browse the catalog here.
Think about making a donation in a loved one’s name to a Catholic Worker Hospitality House near you. Hospitality Houses offer meals, clothing, and shelter to the invisible people: the homeless, addicted, mentally challenged, abused, and unloved. Catholic Workers live in the houses with the people they serve, dedicating themselves to practicing the Works of Mercy our Lord spelled out in the 25th chapter of Matthew’s Gospel. There are Houses of Hospitality all across the nation.
You can find one near you here. You might even consider giving the gifts of time and labor in addition to money.
And don’t forget to read Dorothy’s “Room for Christ” Christmas essay in this issue’s “Faith” section.
